Already a premier place to live on Hilton Head Island, Sea Pines Resort is about to become even more popular after some recent upgrades.

The resort just held the Grand Opening of the Plantation Golf Club Clubhouse – a $17 million investment. This elegant 23,000-square-foot facility will serve the Heron Point and Ocean golf courses and will also offer premier events for guests and residents.

Some of its features include the 2,000-square-foot Magnolia Room (a meeting and event space) as well as a 4,500-square-foot elevated outdoor porch.

And believe it or not – Plantation Golf Club is not the only improvement coming to Sea Pines, which is already the largest resort on Hilton Head Island with more than 5,500 acres.

The Hilton Head area real estate market is going crazy! In fact, it is the #1 HOTTEST MARKET IN SOUTH CAROLINA.

First, it is the only market in the entire state in which more homes were purchased in 2013 than any previous year in history. 2013 was a positive year for the Berkeley Hall real estate market. With 20 homes sold, it was the second best year in the last decade in terms of the number of homes sold. Actually, in an analysis of the years prior to 2004, last year was the second best year EVER for Berkeley Hall home sales, and only 2 homes less than the peak of 22 homes sold in 2011. 2013 was a bit of a disappointment for Hilton Head Island oceanfront home sales. Throughout the year, 14 oceanfront homes were sold at a median sale price of $2,037,500. In only three of the last ten years have there been more oceanfront homes sold in the Hilton Head area. The peak year was in 2007 when 22 oceanfront homes were sold. Surprisingly, while total home sales in the Hilton Head area in 2013 were the highest EVER with 2,730 sales, oceanfront home sales actually dipped to 14 from 18 sales in 2012.

                          Belfair's Historic Avenue of Oaks

There has never been a better first 11 months in Belfair home sales in the community's history! During this time, 31 homes in the Belfair area have sold at a median price of $575,000. The 31 homes sold is a new record for any January through November period in the history of the Multiple Listing Service's reported data. The number of home sales has more than doubled the number of sales during the same time period of last year and has steadily risen an incredible 158% since the low point in 2009 when 12 homes were sold.

Home sales in Port Royal Plantation on Hilton Head Island, SC are booming! In the first eleven months of 2013, 67 Port Royal Plantation homes have sold at a median price of $590,000. The 67 homes that have sold are the highest number of sales in Port Royal Plantation over the first eleven months of any year since 2007.
