Sea Pines Resort on Hilton Head Island Becomes Even More Desirable After $49M in Upgrades

Already a premier place to live on Hilton Head Island, Sea Pines Resort is about to become even more popular after some recent upgrades.

The resort just held the Grand Opening of the Plantation Golf Club Clubhouse – a $17 million investment. This elegant 23,000-square-foot facility will serve the Heron Point and Ocean golf courses and will also offer premier events for guests and residents.

Some of its features include the 2,000-square-foot Magnolia Room (a meeting and event space) as well as a 4,500-square-foot elevated outdoor porch.

And believe it or not – Plantation Golf Club is not the only improvement coming to Sea Pines, which is already the largest resort on Hilton Head Island with more than 5,500 acres.

This Will Be An Incredible Year for Hilton Head Oceanfront Real Estate

2013 was a bit of a disappointment for Hilton Head Island oceanfront home sales. Throughout the year, 14 oceanfront homes were sold at a median sale price of $2,037,500. In only three of the last ten years have there been more oceanfront homes sold in the Hilton Head area. The peak year was in 2007 when 22 oceanfront homes were sold. Surprisingly, while total home sales in the Hilton Head area in 2013 were the highest EVER with 2,730 sales, oceanfront home sales actually dipped to 14 from 18 sales in 2012.

Hilton Head Real Estate Market Explodes, Sets All-Time Record

The Hilton Head Island real estate market virtually exploded in 2013! While the national real estate market has been turning upward, our local area market has set an ALL-TIME RECORD!

For the last 10 years home sales in the Hilton Head real estate market have averaged 1,976 homes per year, according to Hilton Head Area Multiple Listing Service (MLS) statistics. In 2013, an extraordinary 2,730 homes were sold. This is an unbelievable increase of 38 percent! In fact, this breaks the previous record set in 2005 by 99 homes. See chart below.

Home sales in Port Royal Plantation on Hilton Head Island, SC are booming! In the first eleven months of 2013, 67 Port Royal Plantation homes have sold at a median price of $590,000. The 67 homes that have sold are the highest number of sales in Port Royal Plantation over the first eleven months of any year since 2007. Homes sold numbers for the Bluffton SC area are going crazy this year! In the first ten months of 2013, 542 homes in the Bluffton area have sold at a median price of $185,000.
