2013 is the best year ever for the number of sales for golf communities in Hilton Head. The numbers below show just how dramatic the demand is right now from home buyers in the Hilton Head area. These golf community homes sold numbers sets a new all time record, and paired with the current prices, highlight just how much of an amazing opportunity the current market is for anyone looking to buy Hilton Head golf community homes for sale. In the chart, you can compare the number of homes sold to the comparable median price over the same eight month period for the last ten years in our residential golf communities. Palmetto Dunes and Sea Pines were not included in these numbers because even though they have multiple courses, they are not what we consider to be residential golf communities; they are considered resort golf communities.
Golf Community Homes Sold in First Eight Months of the Last Ten Years
 
In the first 8 months of 2013, 878 golf community homes were sold. 2012 saw 670 golf community homes sold in the first 8 months. The ALL TIME record was back in 2005 when 845 golf community homes were sold. Folks, this is an exciting trend; as home buyers are making their move and choosing golf community homes in greater numbers than ever seen before! In 2006, Hilton Head area golf community prices peaked at $530,000 and then quickly declined 42% as the market bubble burst  and hit a new low last year at $306,500. Since the lowest point last year; however, prices have increased 6% to $326,000, and continue to show an increasingly strong demand from current home buyers to own homes or villas in golf communities in the Hilton Head area.Â
