What is “core golf”?

Emanating from the Clubhouse are two distinctly designed championship core golf courses designed by Tom Fazio. These two Fazio “works of art” are the objectification of the “core golf” concept. In essence this concept is a turning away from traditional residential golf clubs where the fairways are lined with homes. At Berkeley Hall Fazio was given the opportunity to survey the raw land, choose the most ideal property for the course settings and place the homes around the perimeter of the courses. Homeowners love it because if they are on the course they invariably have two, three, four or even five fairways in view.

This is “pure” golf harkening back to the days of Mackenzie and Ross. The result is quite beneficial to the game. As Fazio says, “Golfers feel like they are taking a walk in a park rather than a ride through a subdivision.”

The Berkeley Hall "Village"

Life at Berkeley Hall centers around the Berkeley Hall Amenity Village anchored on one end by the gracious Jeffersonian-style clubhouse and on the other by the extensive Spa and Fitness Center. One of the foundational principles of the Berkeley Hall concept was to create a friendly, active community that would answer the question, “What do women want?”. Thus, throughout the village and the community you’ll discover a strong emphasis on providing amenities and activities that appeal to women. One woman said, “Living in Berkeley Hall is like living in a five-star resort without the tourists.”
